Using
my degrees in Psychology, I started my career mentoring
delinquent, abused, brain injured and autistic children.
My innate tendency to affect other people positively led
me to intertwine my love for helping people with my love
of art. I have developed and implemented a variety of therapeutic
programs using art, social skills training, high climbing,
and interaction with horses to inspire children and adults
to gain insight and accept themselves and the life they
were given. I
have most recently partnered with local schools to help
students see how fun and easy it is to make a living as
an artist. In
2010, I joined the cause of United Cerebral Palsy to teach
their elementary school age children how to illustrate
children's books.
My
work as an artist has included publicly and privately
commissioned murals and fine art paintings. My love for
Montana has inspired me to create art in wildlife themes.
Together with experienced Taxidermists I have traveled
throughout the United States painting murals and creating
dioramas for hunters to display their life size animals
in scenes of North America, the Artic, and Africa. I
have most recently done a series of several paintings
on European skulls. I
have paintings hanging in twenty-four taxidermy shops
around the country.
I
am really excited about creating more paintings that give
hope to others, I am working on a greeting card series,
and a children's book series that educates small children
what their parents go through when they have cancer.
I
am continuing my education with Crealdé Art
School to develop myself as an artist, improve techniques,
and learn new ways to improve my business practices
as an artist. I am on a journey of also pursuing
my life long dream of getting a Doctorate in Art
Therapy.
